RaiseFutures Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 3, 2026

Summary (Plain Language)

RaiseFutures helps schools run fundraising campaigns and helps families build savings for children. Here is a short version of our privacy practices:

  • We collect only what we need to run campaigns, process donations, and provide our services.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe under its own terms — we do not see or store full card numbers.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Schools see campaign administration and aggregate impact data. They do not see your family financial details, savings-account information, or donor contact lists.
  • If a parent invites friends or family to support a fundraiser, we send a limited message sequence on the parent's behalf (up to 3 messages per fundraiser). Those contacts are not added to general marketing, and they can opt out immediately.
  • Children's last names and photos are optional — parents control what appears publicly, and we default to first name or nickname.
  • You can opt out of texts by replying STOP and out of promotional emails by clicking unsubscribe.
  • Questions? Email hello@raisefutures.org.

This summary is for convenience only. The full policy below is the binding document.

1. Overview

DUCKYBANK LLC doing business as RaiseFutures ("RaiseFutures," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information collected through our websites, campaign pages, applications, communications, and related services collectively referred to as the "Services."

RaiseFutures provides technology and program services that support school fundraising campaigns, financial education, family savings activation, contribution and gifting experiences, community partner engagement, and related reporting.

Raise Futures Foundation ("Foundation") is a separate nonprofit organization that may participate in RaiseFutures programs, including by receiving or authorizing charitable funds and supporting community development activities. RaiseFutures operates the technology, participant experience, communications, campaign systems, and reporting infrastructure.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we disclose it, and the choices available to you.

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in several ways, including information you provide directly, information provided in connection with a campaign, and information collected automatically when you use the Services.

Account and Contact Information

When you create an account, enroll in a campaign, contact us, or use certain Services, we may collect information such as:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Mobile phone number
  • Mailing address
  • Account login information
  • School, organization, or employer affiliation
  • Communications preferences
  • Other information you choose to provide

Parent, Guardian, and Child Information

Parents and guardians may provide limited information about a child in order to participate in a RaiseFutures campaign or use child-related features.

This information may include:

  • Child's first name, nickname, or other identifier
  • School
  • Teacher or classroom
  • Grade
  • Campaign participation information
  • Savings goals or other information a parent chooses to provide
  • Photographs, messages, or other content when an applicable feature is offered

RaiseFutures is designed so that a parent or guardian, rather than the child, creates and manages the relevant account or profile.

A child's last name and photograph are optional. Parents and guardians control what information appears on a public campaign page. By default, only a child's first name or nickname is displayed.

We encourage parents not to submit unnecessary sensitive information about children.

Campaign and Fundraising Information

When you participate in a RaiseFutures campaign, we may collect information such as:

  • Campaign enrollment and participation
  • Campaign links shared or used
  • Donations or contributions associated with a campaign
  • Campaign milestones, rewards, or incentive eligibility
  • Classroom or school participation
  • Fundraising progress
  • Family engagement with educational or savings resources

Donor and Contribution Information

If you make a donation or contribution through the Services, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number, if provided
  • Billing or mailing address
  • Donation or contribution amount
  • Recipient or campaign selected
  • Transaction date and status
  • Messages or information you choose to include with a contribution

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Current service providers include Stripe. Those providers may collect payment card, bank account, identity verification, and other information required to process the transaction. Stripe handles payment credentials under its own terms and privacy practices.

RaiseFutures does not receive or store complete payment card numbers. We may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, limited payment information, and other information necessary to operate the Services, provide support, prevent fraud, and maintain records.

Savings Account and Financial Institution Information

RaiseFutures may provide tools that help parents learn about child savings accounts, compare account types, connect with financial institutions, or take steps toward opening or linking an account.

If you choose to interact with a third-party financial institution or account provider, that provider may collect additional information directly from you under its own privacy policy.

RaiseFutures may receive information such as:

  • Whether you requested information about an account
  • Whether you began or completed a referral or account-opening process
  • Whether an eligible account was linked for a RaiseFutures program
  • Program eligibility or incentive status

RaiseFutures does not store bank account usernames or passwords. If a third-party provider (such as an account-linking service) is used in the future, that provider would receive credentials directly — RaiseFutures would store only the reference tokens and status information needed to operate the relevant feature.

Invited Donor Contact Information

When a parent or campaign participant enters a friend's or family member's name, phone number, or email address to invite them to support a fundraiser, we collect that contact information for the purpose of sending the parent-authorized fundraiser messages described in Section 4.

We use invited-donor contact information only to deliver the limited fundraiser message sequence the parent requested and to process any resulting donation. We do not add invited donors to general RaiseFutures marketing, and we do not share their contact information with schools, banks, sponsors, or other third parties for their own marketing.

An invited donor may reply STOP to any text message to immediately opt out. An invited donor may also request deletion of their contact information by emailing hello@raisefutures.org.

We retain invited-donor contact information for the duration of the campaign and for a limited period afterward for suppression list maintenance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations.

School and Community Partner Information

We may collect information from participating schools, nonprofit organizations, banks, financial institutions, community partners, volunteers, and other organizations, including:

  • Contact and organizational information
  • School and campaign information
  • Volunteer participation
  • Program activity
  • Impact measurements
  • Financial education participation
  • Aggregated campaign and community-development information

RaiseFutures generally does not require schools to provide individual family income information in order for families to participate.

Communications and Support

If you contact us by email, phone, text message, web form, or another channel, we may retain the communication and information necessary to respond to you and provide support.

Device, Usage, and Technical Information

When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • Pages viewed
  • Links clicked
  • Date and time of access
  • Referring pages
  • General location derived from IP address
  • Application or website performance information

We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate and improve the Services.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Enroll families and schools in campaigns
  • Operate campaign pages and participant dashboards
  • Process and document transactions
  • Provide fundraising and gifting functionality
  • Determine eligibility for campaign incentives or matched savings programs
  • Provide financial education and savings resources
  • Help users connect with third-party financial institutions when requested
  • Send requested communications and campaign updates
  • Send parent-authorized fundraiser messages to invited donors (see Section 4)
  • Provide customer support
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity
  • Secure and improve the Services
  • Analyze campaign participation and program effectiveness
  • Produce aggregated impact and community-development reporting
  • Coordinate volunteers and participating organizations
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Develop and improve RaiseFutures products and programs

We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for research, analytics, program evaluation, product improvement, and reporting.

4. Text Messages and Mobile Information

RaiseFutures operates two distinct text-messaging programs. Your consent to one program does not enroll you in the other.

Parent / Account Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from RaiseFutures, we may send informational, transactional, campaign-related, account-related, or other messages consistent with the consent you provided. Message frequency varies based on your participation, campaign activity, and the services you request. Message and data rates may apply.

Parent-Authorized Donor Outreach

A registered campaign participant may request that RaiseFutures send limited fundraising messages to individually selected friends and family on the participant's behalf. The participant represents that they personally know the contacts and reasonably believe the outreach is appropriate.

This program is capped at up to 3 messages per fundraiser per recipient, including the initial invitation. Campaign reminders stop for a recipient who has already donated. Recipients can immediately opt out by replying STOP. Their phone numbers are not used for general RaiseFutures marketing, other fundraisers, or any unrelated purpose without separate consent.

General SMS Rules (Both Programs)

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to a RaiseFutures text message. You may reply HELP for assistance or contact us at hello@raisefutures.org.

Consent to receive promotional text messages is not a condition of making a donation, participating in a fundraiser, or purchasing a service.

Your consent applies to the specific RaiseFutures messaging program for which it was collected. Consent to receive messages from RaiseFutures is not automatically transferred to a school, bank, sponsor, financial institution, nonprofit, or other third party.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell, rent, transfer, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Telecommunications providers, messaging aggregators, carriers, and vendors acting on our behalf may process information as necessary to transmit and support the messages you requested. They are not authorized by us to use your SMS opt-in information for their own marketing.

5. Email Communications

We send two categories of email:

  • Operational emails — account notices, campaign updates, transaction confirmations, security alerts, and customer-support replies. These may continue when reasonably necessary to provide the Services, even if you have unsubscribed from promotional email.
  • Promotional emails — marketing, product announcements, or other non-essential communications. You may unsubscribe from these at any time using the link provided in the message.

6. How We Disclose Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We use vendors that help us operate the Services. Current service providers include Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), Resend (email), and Supabase (hosting and database). We provide these organizations only the information reasonably necessary to perform services on our behalf.

Raise Futures Foundation

Where a campaign or program involves Raise Futures Foundation, information necessary to administer the program, document charitable activity, verify eligibility, maintain financial records, provide impact oversight, or comply with law may be made available to the Foundation.

RaiseFutures and Raise Futures Foundation remain separate organizations and use information according to their respective roles.

Schools and Participating Organizations

Schools receive campaign administration and aggregate impact information, such as participation levels, campaign results, and aggregate fundraising data.

Parent-managed financial information, savings-account information, donor contact information, and other family data are not visible to schools unless required for a specific program feature and disclosed to the parent at that time.

Banks, Financial Institutions, and Community Partners

We may work with banks, financial institutions, and other community partners that support RaiseFutures programs.

We do not automatically provide these partners with your personal information for their own marketing.

If you expressly request information from a partner, ask to open an account with a partner, or affirmatively opt in to partner contact, we may provide the information identified at the time of your request. A partner receives only the information needed for the specific account or product interaction you requested; a bank partnership does not automatically grant the partner access to your broader RaiseFutures data for marketing.

A RaiseFutures SMS opt-in does not constitute consent for a third party to send you text messages.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of RaiseFutures, the Foundation, our users, participating organizations, or others
  • Investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms

Business Transactions

If RaiseFutures is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.

SMS opt-in consent is not transferred as consent for another business to market to you by text.

Aggregated or De-Identified Information

We may use and disclose information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it does not reasonably identify an individual.

7. Public Campaign Information

Certain RaiseFutures campaign pages are designed to be shared with friends, family, and community members.

Information displayed on a campaign page may therefore be accessible to people outside your household and may include limited information such as:

  • Child's first name or nickname
  • School or classroom
  • Campaign progress
  • Fundraising goal
  • Parent-provided campaign content
  • Donor recognition when the donor chooses to be identified

A child's last name and photograph are optional. Parents and guardians control what appears on the campaign page.

Parents and guardians should not place sensitive information, full account numbers, private financial information, home addresses, medical information, or other information they do not want disclosed on a public campaign page.

8. Children's Privacy

RaiseFutures accounts and Services are intended to be managed by adults.

We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to independently create accounts or directly provide personal information to RaiseFutures.

Information relating to a child is generally submitted and controlled by a parent or legal guardian, or handled under an applicable school or organizational arrangement.

If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us without appropriate authorization, contact us at hello@raisefutures.org. We will investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

Parents and guardians may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information relating to their child, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.

9. School and Student Information

RaiseFutures is designed to minimize the amount of student information required from schools.

When school-provided education-record information is involved, RaiseFutures will use it pursuant to the applicable school or district agreement and applicable student privacy requirements, which may include the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We can execute data processing agreements (DPAs) where required by a school or district.

RaiseFutures does not use student personal information for behavioral advertising and does not sell student personal information.

Where information is subject to a specific agreement with a school, district, or educational organization, that agreement may contain additional privacy and security requirements.

10. Financial Information and Third-Party Accounts

RaiseFutures is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or financial institution.

Financial accounts presented through the Services are offered and maintained by independent third-party financial institutions.

Those institutions have their own privacy practices and may collect information directly from you.

If you leave RaiseFutures to interact with a third-party financial institution, its privacy policy will govern the information you provide directly to it.

11. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Necessary — authentication, session management, security, and core site functionality.
  • Analytics — understanding how users interact with the Services and improving performance.
  • Communications measurement — measuring email open rates, campaign link activity, and similar communications metrics.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the operation of the Services.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Maintain campaign and transaction records
  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Resolve disputes
  • Prevent fraud
  • Enforce our agreements

Retention periods vary by information type. For example, donation and accounting records may be retained longer than analytics data or invited-donor contact information. Invited-donor contacts are retained for the campaign and for a limited period afterward for suppression list maintenance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations.

When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize, or de-identify it in accordance with our policies and applicable law.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information.

However, no website, application, database, network, or electronic communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and account credentials and should notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

14. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights regarding your personal information, including rights to:

  • Request access to personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion
  • Obtain a portable copy of certain information
  • Withdraw certain consent
  • Opt out of certain marketing
  • Appeal the denial of a privacy request where applicable

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You may submit a privacy request by contacting hello@raisefutures.org.

We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

If applicable law gives you a right to appeal a decision regarding a privacy request, you may submit an appeal to the same email address with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the unsubscribe link in the message.

For text messages, reply STOP to opt out.

15. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Services may link to websites, financial institutions, applications, or other services operated by third parties.

We do not control the privacy practices of those organizations. You should review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.

16. United States Services

RaiseFutures is based in the United States and the Services are primarily intended for users in the United States.

Information may be stored and processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Services, by email, or by another appropriate method.

The "Last Updated" date above identifies the current version.
